At OLA we aim to:
- Create a safe and inclusive environment where a group of people can harmoniously live and work together to fulfil their goals.
We take a holistic approach to developing the social, emotional, behavioural and cognitive development of all our students. The children at OLA are empowered to feel that they belong to a caring, welcoming community where each child is respected and valued.
Student Wellbeing is comprised of two key components: Student Services and Student Wellbeing.
- provide support to students who may be experiencing difficulties in their learning,
- engages with a variety of external services, such as speech pathologists and occupational therapists, to support students and families.
- provides a range of resources to support student learning both at school and at home.
All staff at OLA is dedicated to ensuring the positive wellbeing of every student in our care. Social and Emotional Learning aims at educating children to become aware of their emotional health and how to develop resilience when challenged by adversity. OLA’s principles of our vision Statement, ‘Faith, Service, Empathy, Cooperation, Total Development, Dignity, Openness, Truth, Evangelisation, Hopefulness, Celebration and Justice’ align with the five core competencies of Social Emotional Learning: Self Awareness, Social Awareness, Self Management, Responsible decision making, and Relationship skills. At OLA we have a number of school wide programs and initiatives that support our endeavour to equip our students with the knowledge, skills and values to enable them to deal positively with life’s challenges and experience connectedness with the school and community.
